In practice, each 10-dose vial of Astra Zeneca and Moderna vaccines can typically include a 2-dose overfill, and each vial of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine can deliver one or even two additional dose(s). By using the low-dead-space (LDS) syringe, we can withdraw and administer the extra vaccine doses, or in other words, we can “generate” 20% more vaccine doses.
