On 01 June 2021, the global investment firm KKR announced its investment into a Vietnamese education group, which is EQuest. This is KKR’s first investment into Vietnamese education sector. According to public sources, the transaction value, which is about USD 100 million, will be used to support EQuest’s expansion and advance its mission to provide students in Vietnam with affordable access to world-class education.
LMP Lawyers assisted EQuest and a private equity fund in restructuring its current investment in EQuest by intensively working with relevant parties and liaising with government authorities to obtain crucial approvals, ranging from investment approvals, collaterals registrations to forex transactions.
