Dr. Phieu is renowned as a multidisciplinary lawyer with the acumen in strategy, business, finance, tax, accounting, and his great social connectedness with not only international investment funds, foreign investors, Vietnamese business community but also State authorities.
Over 18 years of practicing law, Dr. Phieu has gained profound experience from working as an in-house lawyer in a Japanese corporation as well as an attorney at leading international law firms. He has advised multinational corporations based in the US, Europe, Japan and even listed companies and family-owned companies in Vietnam.
While working at the leading law firms in Vietnam, he has provided legal advice to, among others, Coca-Cola, Pepsico, Berjaya, Dragon Capital, Indian Overseas Bank, Travel Service A.S., Commonwealth Bank, DongA Bank, FCI, Lotte, Coteccons, etc.
Prior to founding LMP Lawyers, Dr. Phieu worked for the largest Japanese law firm. At this firm, he provided legal advice to multinational corporations under their highest expectations such as Sumitomo, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, Nippon Paint, Marubeni, JICA, Nippon Express, Hitachi, Maeda, Nitto Denko, Sojitz, Zeria, Toyota, Kubota, AEON, Nojima, etc.

Connected, introduced, led, and advised on the M&A deal between DDC and Taihei successfully.
Arranged, represented, and advised the founding members of Viet Hoa My in the M&A deal with Nippon Paper Industries.
Successfully connected, introduced, led, and advised on the M&A deal between Paper World – Vietnam’s leading paper production and distribution company and Oita Paper Products – Japan’s leading paper company on the issuance of new shares for Oita Paper Products.
Advised CAC’s shareholders on the sale of 65% of CAC’s shares to Fuji Electric Group (Japan) in phase 1 and on the exercise of put options in phase 2;
Advised Wrap & Roll on the transfer and issuance of shares to Mekong Capital investment fund (transaction value of 7 million USD);
Advised the American Academy on the acquisition of a language school system;
Advised an investor on the acquisition of a shipbuilding company;
Advised Sojitz Corporation and Ministop (Japan) on investing in Vinh Khanh Consultant;
Advised Daito Fertilizer (Japan) on purchasing shares of Daito Organic;
Advised on a M&A deal between a Singaporean company and an American investor related to Trusting Social and Trust IQ (a group of financial technology companies in Vietnam);
Advised Presico Engineering Pte. Ltd. (Singapore) on the acquisition of a 100% capital contribution from Davex (Malaysia) in Luminia Lightning Vietnam;
Advised NCS Japan (Japan) on the acquisition of 100% of the contributed capital of Nishi Nihon Precut Center JSC in Natural Cypress Structure Limited Company (NCS);
Advised Delta Marketing (Japan) on the acquisition of 100% of Thousand Crane’s capital contribution in Thousand Crane Vietnam;
Advised Big Mama Pte. Ltd. (Japan) on capital contribution to Big Mama TDVN;
Advised on restructuring for Quan Ut Ut, transferring capital contribution to US investors and receiving investment from Mekong Capital investment fund;
Advised Truong Hao Phat – the eyewear distribution chain on the capital transfer transaction for Essilor International – the leading eyewear corporation in the world;

Advised Mekong Capital on many issues related to divestment in Asia Chemical Corporation;
Advised Mobile World on the acquisition of Phuc An Khang pharmacy chain;
Advised Vietnam Star Automobile (the largest distributor of Mercedes – Benz in Vietnam) on all legal issues related to corporate operation, business, compliance, and other matters. In particular, we advised on investment expansion in provinces and cities in Vietnam.
Advised Powerwell Holdings Bhd, Malaysia regarding the legal due diligence for its subsidiary in Vietnam for the purpose of its initial public offering on the Bursa Malaysia Stock Exchange.
Advised A&B Corporation on all legal issues related to the daily business operations and compliance of the company.
Advised a neuroscience company on restructuring its organization by receiving capital from US investors successfully. The deal has had a positive impact on science, technology, and the AI industry in Vietnam. This is the first neuroscience company in Vietnam to develop a wearable device that detects real-time neural signals to stimulate the brain to improve sleep, concentration, and other cognitive functions.
Advised a retail company owning a famous supermarket chain in Vietnam on the adjustment of investment capital in the Investment Registration Certificate due to a loan with the parent company in Thailand. We worked closely with the State Bank of Vietnam to issue this loan.
Advised a Vietnamese education company on offshore investment procedures and supported that company in applying for an Offshore Investment Certificate successfully.
Advised foreign investors including organizations and individuals to invest in the form of buying shares of shareholders at Galaxy Education.
Advised and implemented procedures for the investment expansion of Mettler-Toledo in Hanoi and Can Tho.
Advised Trusting Social on all legal issues related to the company’s operations, business, compliance and other issues.
Advised and implemented procedures to adjust the operating licenses of more than 100 business locations of the B’s Mart convenience store chain in Ho Chi Minh City.
